Inside Job FILM REVIEW

There are 3 Major Problems that I want to emphasize in this Review. The first was the HOUSING BUBBLE. It affects many housing markets in the economy of United States, and at that time the proportional relationship of bank’s own assets ratio of money borrowed by an investment bank versus the bank's own assets reached the unexpected levels. The credit default swap was the same as the insurance policy. By then the speculators could buy CDSs that they will bet against CDOs    that they did not own. Huge number of CDOs was supported by subprime mortgages. One responsible individual that is responsible about this said problem was GOLDMAN-SACHS. in the first half of 2006 they sold more than $3 billion worth of CDOs. This problem was maximized by Goldman because he also bet on low-value CDOs, telling lies about to the investors that it was high quality. And I think that housing bubble has already solved itself, and I think that the question should be the solution to housing implosion. One answer would be to do nothing, let the market find the true price of housing over the next couple of years as foreclosures make their way through the system.

The second problem is the collapse of  the MARKET CDOs leaving investment banks with more than hundreds of billion dollars in loan. Thus The Great Recession began, late the bear stern is out of cash. And on the following months, the federal government took over Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac, which is nearly collapsing, then 2 days later the Lehman Brothers collapsed. The persons or agencies involved in this said problem was the LENDERS because they are not satisfied in just mortgage, they find a way to find a new higher profit. The “subprime” mortgage i.e mortgages of much higher risk, but paying much higher interest rates, made to borrowers with lower levels of credit. With increasing demand from Wall Street to buy subprime mortgages, lenders became motivated to place ever more subprime loans (since they were no longer at risk, should the loans fail), and began to push messages like, “refinance your home, unlock all that equity, pay off your credit card debt, and go on vacation.” Often, lenders convinced those without credit and who can’t afford a mortgage at all to get one anyway.

And the last problem was UNEMPLOYMENT because of what happened, like the global recession many people not only in the Wall Street but the whole world have lost their jobs, people the banking firms and agencies declare bankruptcy, many people have left with nothing and they cannot get their saving. This problem can be solve by the Government, Government support to struggling industries in order to try to save jobs, The Government needs to try to create demand in the economy. It could; Give grants to businesses to produce goods, Have projects such as road building, Cut interest rates to encourage spending, Cut income tax to courage spending.

Commentary Writing: Social Media changes the ways students write and speak

When the internet became popular, different social media has come out bundled with speculations that it would change the way students write and speak, Social Media continues to persuade students to use it because of some of it’s cool features, like you can chat with your friends around the globe, you can really be more social with friends, and play their games anywhere you want. It would be unfair to single Social Media out for criticism because there is no assurance if it has positive or negative effect on students. A powerful tool, Technology at it is best, Social Media takes advantage on students because they are versatile, for a moment they want it because of their needs, or it is what they want. Students want instant communication and entertainment, that’s why many students are affected by this notion.

In some Social Media settings there’s no limitation, whether you want to elaborate further or just make it shorter, it is your choice, in short they have freedom to abbreviate or shorten they word of choice to emphasize what they are pointing out. A student uses “LOL”, “TTYL” and any other acronym. Students adapt to this easily, when they are chatting with their friends on facebook and they encounter this odd word, they would recognize it easily, it is like they know without their brain processing it. Friends play a big part on this.  Because they acquire this new word they would rather use it to their friends also and the cycle repeats again. That’s basically how the world travels, and students are the one of its carrier.

Since we know that twitter has a 140 character limitation, students who use it might have difficulty of trying to convey what their message has for its reader, but this will make students think of other way to make their work more compact in a sense that everybody who read it can understand its meaning. “Who says you must have full sentences or paragraphs of text to make an impact or to drive people to action?”(Sherman, 2010). Indeed what he said was right, students nowadays adapt this skill and change the way they write in to more conducive and productive way that not only whey can be benefited from it even us the reader. ”The real revolution was not the printing press itself it was when everyone learn to read and write” (Mayfield, 2009). Mayfield is trying to emphasize that when something is “in” it is not because many people “use” it, it is because many people “know how to use it”. and Social Media is one and it is growing and it is changing the way we speak, do you experience something that even without speaking through your mouth and telling what is your name someone will recognize who you are, one reason is because of the personal things that you tell the world through internet, well they can basically search for your name and redirect to your blog, or to your wall in facebook where they can see information about you, Social Media can affect the way you communicate to others, but still this is not new to us because at the first place we are the one who posted it there thinking and hoping that it will not to any harm to us.

Social Media is something that we must learn before we can use it; it is not a talent that if you want to do it you will do it not everybody has the knowledge to use such thing that’s why students are thought how to use our resources which is readily available, it is the Information Technology. One social networking site has triumph over the students because of its popularity and everybody is basically using it nowadays, Facebook. It has benefits “Spend more time indoors, Facebook can keep your personal information, Giving away information to companies, Student get lower grades, Damages real life socialization, Get addicted not only to games but also the web. And it will possibly destroy how you live.”(Fung, 2011). Despite of its cost social media is use by students to share and gather information, they can go to an online discussion and enhance their knowledge, maybe social media don’t just change the ways students think, but it is helping them enhance their writing to be more concise and straightforward, improve their speech because of some insight s from others that they get from the online discussions.

What really is beauty?

according to Oxford Dictionary
noun (plural beauties)
1 [mass noun] a combination of qualities, such as shape, colour, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially the sight: I was struck by her beauty an area of outstanding natural beauty

a combination of qualities that pleases the intellect: the artistry and beauty of football
[as modifier] denoting something intended to make someone more attractive: beauty treatment

As i finish eating my lunch and i sat for a while then this T.V. Commercial was aired and it's about there beauty product and the way they persuade the viewers was somewhat decisive, at the end, they promoter was saying i forgot the line but it's something related to beauty.

But my main point here is that what really is beauty? Well for me beauty is really subjective, thus what i consider beauty maybe not to you, or to others. as my philosophy teacher always tell that we are all beautiful, and i believe him because everyone of us has good side, not all people realize it but even the baddest and meanest person had there soft side.

So, i don't believe in the commercial that if i go to there place and try there beauty products which i will not to, i will be beautiful. this is what i hate about media, that is blinding us to what the real thing is, i understand that people  is easy to deceive, just a little talk and were conceive. but the thing here is as our life goes on, how we perceive things change, is it up to us to maintain this? or we let them change the good things to something even worse?

Is Procastination A Real Problem..

I've Read and Article Written by Francis Wade About Procrastination and True It's Not A Problem Actually..

Procrastination: Not a Problem!

Perhaps procrastination simply isn’t the problem we think it is.
Webster’s Dictionary defines the word as follows:
procrastinate: To put off from day to day; to delay; to defer to a future time
Anyone who is skillful at managing their time will tell you that the  act of “putting off from day to day,” “delaying” and “deferring to  a future time” are required skills in today’s information age.
With technology has come an increased number of demands on our time,  and a variety of ways in which we allow ourselves to be  interrupted, reminded or prompted to make new commitments.  The only smart tactic to take is to put things off until later.
Take the simple example of checking your email Inbox.
In fifteen minutes it’s possible to scan 100 new items, while making  30 instant decisions to take further action.  It’s impossible to act on  all 30 items immediately.  Instead, it’s a much better idea to focus on a  single item at a time, rather than trying to split one’s attention between multiple tasks.
In other words, it’s better to “put it off from today,” “delay”  or “defer to a future time” than to try to do multiple actions  at the same time, in the very next moment.
Why is procrastination deemed to be such a problem if, by its definition, the action is such a benign and even useful one?  I suspect that  when we call a problem by its incorrect name, we prevent ourselves from seeing clear, common-sense solutions.  The word “procrastination” is being used to label the wrong problem.

The Real Problem

To understand the real problem, let’s look at some cases in which  actual failures occurred, and why they had nothing to do with  procrastination.
Failure #1 – A Missed Due Date: Sam’s homework was due on Monday morning, and she waited until  late on Sunday evening to get started.  After she started she found  out that the assignment required  at least 20 hours of work, which she could not complete in time.   The assignment was handed in late, and her tardiness cost her a  full letter grade according to the rules stated in the syllabus.
Analysis: Most might call Sam a procrastinator, but I only see that she has a weakness in scheduling her time.  The failure started by  not properly estimating the size of the task, and continued when  she didn’t use her calendar to determine the best time to start the assignment.
In this case what we call procrastination is actually a problem  with the discipline that time management experts would call “personal scheduling.”
Failure #2 – Several Delays: Mike has made an internal decision to cut the lawn on Saturday,  an activity that he despises.  On the appointed day, other events intervene, and he decides to cut the lawn on Sunday instead.
Sunday rolls around and once again he decides to postpone his date  with the lawnmower until Wednesday.
On Wednesday he decides that next Friday would be better, and  he once again foregoes the much needed chore.
On Friday he finally cuts the entire lawn in one effort.
Analysis: Was Mike procrastinating?  Many would say yes, and  they might strongly imply that he was just being lazy.
If I add in the fact that it rained on Friday, Monday and Tuesday  nights rendering the ground soft and unsafe for a cut, would it be  said that he was still being lazy, and procrastinating?
If I add in the fact that his neighbour cut his lawn under similar  conditions would you change your mind?  And if I add in the fact  that the neighbour is known to be a drunkard who sometimes does  crazy things help you to change your  mind again?
The problem with the way we use procrastination is that it has come to mean much more than the dictionary definition, and now brings with it  an accusing tone filled with blame.
If we were to use the dictionary definition of the word we’d conclude that he was simply re-scheduling.  The fact is that he deferred  the activity, and according to the dictionary, he was procrastinating.  According to our common-day usage of the word, it all depends on  whether or not he was to blame for the delay.
The charge of being a “procrastinator” that we lay against  ourselves and others has a become a way to cast blame.

Solutions

The negative judgements and feelings related to procrastinating  don’t come from the delays, the  putting off or the postponements.  Instead they come from our  judgemental minds which  have decided that something or someone is to blame.  A close look at the examples above reveal that  it’s actually the negative thoughts that are producing the guilty  feelings and the blame, and NOT the actual rescheduling.
What can we do about these negative thoughts?  What can we do if we  continue to blame ourselves and others for procrastinating?
There are a variety of approaches that we can use, but  this is  my personal favorite.  Byron Katie’s methods of dealing with  stressful thoughts is the method that I have used for the past 4 years. (Her entire approach can be found at her website.)
Her thesis is simple, and is a good match for the problem of blame.
Stress is never caused by life circumstances, but instead it  originates in the thoughts that we have, and whether or not we  believe them.
In the example above, Sam’s assignment was late (a fact,) but her thought that “I’m a procrastinator” would only cause stress if she believed it.
On Katie’s site, there is a powerful and simple process. It involves dealing with stressful thoughts by  first writing them down and then  applying 4 questions and what  she calls a turnaround statement (an opposing thought.)
The result of using her process on stressful, judgmental thoughts about procrastination is a sense of relief in which statements  like “I should stop procrastinating” might still recur, but  without the stress that usually comes.
While this kind of habit might not seem to be related to time  management, there are so many who struggle with thoughts of  procrastination that if they could get past their own thinking, it  would help bring peace of mind — which is the goal of every time management system.
So, if you think you have an issue with procrastination, start by  separating your actions from your thoughts. Deal with your skill at scheduling if you need to. According to the dictionary, you are  probably doing the right thing by procrastinating.
If you find that you have blaming thoughts that keep returning, and that  they are causing stress, use Katie’s method to free yourself to be as productive as you can be without this  harmful habit.

Taare Zameen Par: You'lll find your purpose when you find your happiness

Oftentimes children can't express what they feel and causes children to rebel, cause adults force them to do something they hate to do. I know this cause i'm a kid too, and what kid wants is to have fun. It's a good thing to have a brilliant movie like this that could change people's view about life, a movie that will tell us the truth that is happening among us, bad teachings and sometimes it causes enraged to teacher because teacher only sees the top ranking students and they don't care bout the poor students. Kudos! to Aamir Khan for bringing us this wonderful movie "Taare Zameen Par" or "Stars on the Ground" a stroy of a gifted child named Ishaan who happens to be dyslexic.

The Acting was excellent specially Ishaan, his talent brings the best out of the movie, he done it perfectly, the parents acting was so natural even though they are so stereotypical, and to Aamir I was amazed by his skill and the music is the psyche of the movie and I was touch by the sounds, I was moved. "Mama knows everything" what a wonderful composition. Many movies that touch our hearts and often we call them hits, but Taare Zameen Par touches the soul, it is very emotional and it's very special.

The first part of the movie was slow, it's good because it takes time to build up each character, I see Ishaan as a boy who doesn't want to go to school despite of being bullied by his peers, he faces the rigors of the schools, his schools was so strict and what the boys needs is attention and they don't see it, he seeks for help. The school is pedantic, every mistake has a corporal punishment and that's not the way to discipline a students.

The part when Sir Nikumbh appeared was quite odd, and I know the way to persuade a student to like you is to feel that they are special, but Nikumbh do it in his own style. every child is special and the students feel that by singing and dancing they have no problems, just kids having fun. I was amazed because he done everything to change the life of Ishaan. the poignant of the boy was slowly changing because he slowly see what the world has for him, he slowly change his perspectiveabout everything. Nikumbh cling to his faith that he can teach the boy. It;s very tangible what he did, every child is unique, every child deserves a chance to do something to make him happy, but I think NIkumbh is holistic which is good, without knowing the background of when or when, or what causes Ishaan to have dyslexia.

The movie was emotional it even made me cry, but the part that made me cry is not on the main theme, it's when Nikumbh is eating alongside the road. When he saw a kid whos shirt is ragged and is cleaning the table and eventually he let him sat beside him and gives him biscuit and drinks, that scene has something I feel the connection between Nikumbh and the children specially in the Tulips Schol it feels like my heart was crushed because of the very emotional scne, his passion for children change every viewer, and if you love children I can recommend this to you. It's a must watch movie, and I prefer to watch it with your family specially when your parents stifles you, haha just kidding.

Ishaan finds his happiness by painting, he express his emotion through painting and take note when he won the prize over thousand students, he finds his purpose. Kudos Aamir Khan.

Simon Birch: When someone you love dies, you don't lose them all at once.

When someone you love dies, you don't lose them all at once. You lose them in pieces over time, like how the mail stops coming. What I remember most to this day was my mother's scent and how I hated it when it began to disappear. First from her closets, then from her dresses she had sewn herself and then finally from her bedsheets and pillow cases. Simon and I never talked much about that day on the baseball field. It was too painful for both of us. For as much as I loved my mother, I knew that Simon loved her just as much. She was the only real mother he ever had." I Was touch by Joe Wenteworth when he said those words, i suddenly stop, and think of my mom. by just simply reminscing what happen, my heart melts. i want to cry. those words that made me appreciate my mother more than what i'm doing right now. that movie is something, it so catchy and i even think if it's base from a true story, but i pause and i said to myself "it really doesn't matter if it's base from true story." the thing is the inspiration that it give to all of it's viewers their childhood memories that joe never forget. i also caught by their friendship despite of their standing in their community, i was amazed by how they hold on to their faith to each other specially simon, he's cute adorable boy that has strong faih in god, he really never let go i was also amazed because his acting is really natural when he sad "sex makes people crazy" and when he touch her classmate boobs, i really don't expect from a boy who's saying that he's an instrument of god that he will do or say something like that. indeed nobody is perfect the movie portray many events that happen in real life, sometime i wonder if there's someone who's just like simon birch, who has faith in god more than everybody else. someone like simon who is willing to give his life just to save his friends, and to joe wenteworth i admire him, he never forget his bestfriend and he even named his son after simon, the film is so heartwarming and my insights about life grew wider. thanks simon and joe :).

A hole that only he can fill It

Well.. maybe it's safe to say that, when people fulfilled there dreams, it make them happy.. but after a while they lose their interest and find another one.. indeed there's no contentment.

I once inspire by my teacher when he said that "There's a hole in us that only god can fill up."
by reflecting, i realize that it's something i once experience it, there's a time that when i was alone and trying to think about my hopes and dreams, and suddenly i think what if i get my dreams does it make me whole? or it will just make me long for another things when i fulfill it, things like this, there's no contentment in our hearts.
Until i read this post A God Shaped Hole ~ Only He Can Fill It  Then i ask my self what's a God shaped Hole? then i look at my self in the mirror, i feel my heart.. it was then i realized that it's the part of us that we often regret, we often deny, but the point is, if God fill this hole that's inside of us, that's the time we can feel the true meaning of God's Love. it's nothing compare to money, fame, attention. it's unlimited joy..

God is love. :')
